Between the recent spinoff Hobbs and Shaw and the upcoming release of the ninth entry in the main series of films, the Fast & Furious franchise continues to be a reliable and lucrative brand for Universal Pictures. And as announced last years, they have partnered with Dreamworks Animation to bring the franchise into the world of animation for a new Netflix series.
Now, months after the release of the first teaser for Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, the streaming giant has finally revealed the official cast list and release date for the upcoming show.
Per the announcement, Spy Racers is slated premiere on Netflix next month on December 26 and will follow teenager Tony Toretto as he attempts "to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a front" for SH1FT3R, a criminal organization that desires world domination.
Playing Tony Toretto is Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), who will be joined by a cast consisting of Camille Ramsey (American Vandal) as Layla Gray, Luke Youngblood (Community) as Frostee Benson, Charlet Chung (Overwatch) as Echo, Jorge Diaz (Jane the Virgin) as Cisco Renaldo, Similce Diesel as Frostee’s younger sister Sissy, Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton) as secret agent liaison Ms. Nowhere, Manish Dayal (The Resident) as SH1FT3R leader Shashi Dhar, Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal) as Mitch, Carlos Alazraqui (Justice League: Doom) Eric Bauza (DuckTales) Grey Griffin (DC Super Hero Girls) Kevin Michael Richardson (The Batman) Fred Tatasciore (Gears of War) and Tru Valentino (Hot Streets).
