Two new Pokémon games have hit social media this holiday season, and they are both available on Facebook Gaming. This marks a first for these two companies to collaborate to produce games for the social media platform.

Pokémon Tower Battle is the title of the the first of the games which launched on Monday this week. The title is developed by Bombay Play and features trainers stacking creatures against each other to try to make the tallest Pokémon tower. Players are able to discover, catch, and level-up rare Pokémon while competing against friends across a global leaderboard in real-time.

The second title meanwhile, which is only released in the Asia-Pacific region at this time, is titled Pokémon Medallion Battle. Created by GCTurbo, Pokémon Medallion Battle is very different in that it is a digital card battle/strategy game - something that should come as a welcome addition to all fans of the franchise once the title goes beyond the inital "soft-launch" mode it is currently in and reaches more countries.

Pokémon Medallion Battle allows trainers to collect their favorite creatures in medallion form in order to complete their Pokédex and win gym badges. Players can battle and evolve these creatures, and with new Pokémon being released every month the game promises to keep fans interested.

The Pokémon Company CEO, Tsunekazu Ishihara said the following in a statement regarding these new games and the partnership with Facebook Gaming.

“Launching these games through Facebook will allow people all over the world to experience Pokémon in digital form, and we are especially thrilled to collaborate with Facebook Gaming in enabling new audiences to enjoy Pokémon games online."
