There are countless re-tellings of classic tales, stories, and fables, though different perspectives and visual styles set some of them apart from the rest. Such is the case with Bron Media Corp's newest production - Fables.
Fables is the first project hailing from the new animation division of Bron Media Corp, the company responsible for Joker and Judas and the Black Messiah. Going by the name Bron Digital, the company is starting its new direction with a Ricky Gervais-narrated arrangement of fairy tales with characters encapsulated by an incredible voice cast.
If Gervais isn't enough of a grab, Fables also stars the vocal talents of J.B. Smoove (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll, Orange is the New Black), and Jemaine Clement (Moana, What We Do In The Shadows). Rounding out the voice cast are talents Anthony Ramos, Zach Woods, Diljit Dosanjh, Alexa Demie, and Roland Griffin Davis.
Gamers will be surprised to learn that Epic Games' Unreal Engine was utilized to make each episode stand apart from one another visually. And did we mention Timbaland is in charge of the music and providing his tracks for the score?
The Tortoise and the Hare, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, and The Lion and the Mouse are all teased as stories that will get a modern-day twist in the new animated series, and it will be exciting to see what else comes after - but what would you guys like to see? Be sure to let us know in the comments!
BRON Digital chose Unreal Engine as the core production hub for ‘Fables,’ an animated series that calls for a completely different set for each episode, giving the international team the ability to work fast and collaborate on camera setups, lighting, environment tweaks, and more, all in real time.
Fables currently has no premiere date scheduled.
