Announced back in April, Eden is the first Netflix Japanese Original Anime, produced as part of the streaming giant's push to expand its anime content for both niche and mainstream audiences.
Netflix dropped the first teaser for Eden, which paints an intriguing premise about a human born in a world where only robots live. Eden is set thousands of years into the future in a world where there are no more humans, only robots living in the mechanical metropolis, Eden 3. But when two farming robots discover a young human girl, they make a decision that will chagne everything.
Eden is directed by acclaimed animator and director Yasuhiro Irie, who best known for his work with the Full Metal Alchemist series. Toshihiro Kawamoto (Cowboy Bebop) assisted as concept designer.
Eden doesn't yet have a date, but is expected to premiere globally on Netflix in 2020.
