Netflix has released (via Universal Kids Preschool) an exciting, new trailer for the upcoming Dragons: Rescue Riders animated series from DreamWorks Animation. The show will be oriented towards preschoolers and is a part of the How to Train Your Dragon franchise.

While the How to Train Your Dragon animated movies came to a close with its third instalment which released earlier this year, the franchise is continuing to expand through animated shows. The simply titled Dragons animated series ran for eight seasons on Cartoon Network and Netflix.

Dragons: Rescue Riders will follow a pair of humans, named Dak and Leyla, who are able to communicate with Dragons as they were raised by the mythical beasts. Episodes will see the pair and their team of young dragons, named Aggro, Winger, Summer, Cutter, and Burple, rescue other dragons and the people of their adopted town: Huttsgalor.

Jack Thomas, who worked on Dreamworks' Dragons series, will executive produce Dragons: Rescue Riders. Brian K. Roberts, who is known for VeggieTales in the House, will co-executive produce and serve as showrunner.

As well as a new trailer, Netflix also released a poster for Dragons: Rescue Riders. You can check out both of them below:
