January is going to be kicking off with with a new shadow Legendary creature available upon defeating the Team Rocket Boss Giovanni - and that creature is none other than the Generation I fire-bird, Moltres. Valor players are sure to be excited for this as Moltres is the mascot for the fiery team.
It was expected that Moltres would arrive in shadow form in the same way that the other two birds did - Articuno and Zapdos, but what comes as a surprise is the implication from Niantic's recent statement that even more shadow Legendaries are on the way in what looks like it may be a regular thing.
"Be on the lookout for a new Team GO Rocket Special Research from Professor Willow every month."
These Team Go Rocket Special Researches mean that there should, in theory, be more shadow Legendaries to follow. It would only make sense as rotating through the legendary birds over and over again would be repetitive. It's likely that the second generation might be treated next - delivering the likes of Entei, Suicune, and Raikou in shadow form. The truth is, while it seems that that will be the case, we're just going to have to wait and see for ourselves!
