It's a brand-new day, and once again Netflix has announced the development of a new series for their platform. As revealed in the official announcement, (via The Hollywood Reporter) Deadpool director Tim Miller and Gone Girl's David Fincher have joined forces to create an animated anthology series for the streaming giant.
The new series, titled Love, Death & Rockets, will be a collection of 18 animated short stories that span the sci-fi, fantasy, horror and comedy genres. Details on these individual stories are sparse, but Miller's short form animation company Blur Studio will presumably be involved in the production.
Also, we know the episodes will feature different animation styles that range from traditional 2D animation to photoreal CG, and each installment will be created by a different team of filmmakers from around the world.
While Love, Death & Rockets may be Tim Miller's first collaboration with Netflix, director David Fincher already has a great deal of experience with the service as a result of his work on Mindhunter and House of Cards.
