Back in 2014,
Star Wars: The Clone Wars was abruptly brought to an end as it was cancelled by Disney. However, during San Diego Comic-Con 2017, the animated show's revival was announced.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars will return with its seventh season in November when, Disney's upcoming streaming service, Disney+ is launched.
San Diego Comic-Con 2018 is currently going on, meaning that it has been exactly a year since the seventh season of
Star Wars: The Clone Wars was announced. To celebrate this, the show's supervising director recently took to Twitter (
@dave_filoni) with a cool, new image of Darth Maul to tease the upcoming return.
"One year ago we announced the return of The Clone Wars. I can’t wait for you all to see what I see," read Filoni's tweet. This is the first we've heard of Darth Maul returning in the upcoming season. Though it isn't explicit confirmation that the character will be back, it might as well be.
