If you've never heard of the Creature Commandos, you're probably not alone!
The obscure monster-based team debuted as a short-lived DC Comics series back in the '80s, and even though there's been a couple of revivals in the decades since, the group has largely remained forgotten.
However, that's all about to change with the premiere of a new Creature Commandos animated series!
DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran announced the first chapter of their new DCU slate, titled Gods and Monsters, on Tuesday, and the former revealed that a seven-episode animated show based on the exploits of the gruesome group will kick-start this new era of DC Comics-based content.
We don't have a premiere date just yet, but we do know that Gunn has already written the show, and the roster will consist of: Rick Flag Sr. - not to be confused with the late Suicide Squad character - along with Batman villain Doctor Phosphorus, The Suicide Squad's Weasel, Project M scientist Nina Mazursky, and Eric Frankenstein and his blushing Bride.
You can check out a first look at the team below.
