Comunity alum Jim Rash appeared on Entertainment Tonight recently to promote his upcoming film, Bernard and Huey, but also briefly touched on his role in the upcoming animated Star Wars Resistance TV show hitting Disney XD this fall.
Star Wars Resistance is confirmed to be set in between Episode VI and the first entry in the new trilogy, Episode VII. The lead character is "Kazuda Xiono, a pilot who is recruited into the Resistance to spy on the growing threat of the First Order."
It seems Rash's character will be working closely with whoever Bobby Moynihan is voicing. "[Bobby Moynihan and I are basically the two guys who run the equipment - sort of the checkout area. We're like Oscar and Felix [characters.]"
It sounds like Rash and Moynihan will be some sort of quartermaster officers for the Resistance. What their character will look like remains a mystery as actual footage for the show is still awaiting release. Unlike Rebels, which was a 3D animated program, Resistance will be "anime inspired."
