Although it had been teased for a while that a brand-new Pokémon would be revealed at some point soon, leading fans to speculate whether this new Pokémon would be a variation or a new Pokémon altogether, Nintendo and Game Freak have finally revealed Sirfetch'd.

As announced today by The Pokémon Company, Sirfetch'd is a variation of the original Farfetch'd from the Generation 1 of Pokémon — which is a native creature of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield's new Galar region.

While Farfetch'd is a Flying type Pokémon, Sirfetch'd is a Fighting Pokémon more in tune with the Galar region — appropriately holding a sword and a shield — and one of his abilities is Steadfast; probably based on the medieval sport Jousting.

Be advised, however, that Sirfetch'd will only show up in Pokémon Sword and not Pokémon Shield, as it is an exclusive Pokémon for the former title.

Take a look:

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be set in Galar, an expansive region with many environments—idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. The people and Pokémon live together in this region, and they’ve worked together to develop the industries here.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be available for the Nintendo Switch on the 15th of November.
