With the launch of Cartoonito, WarnerMedia Kids & Family's new preschool programming block on HBO Max and Cartoon Network, the voice cast for Batwheels has been revealed. Batwheels is aimed at a preschool audience and is an animated action-adventure comedy series starring a group of sentient super-powered crime-fighting vehicles defending Gotham City alongside Batman, Robin, Batgirl and other DC heroes.
Voicing Bam, the Batmobile and leader of the Batwheels team, is Jacob Bertrand (Cobra Kai). Bam is similar to Batman -- dependable with a strong sense of justice. He does his best to lead the team and the other Batwheels know they can count on him, not just as a super teammate, but as a friend as well.
There's also Jordan Reed (Chuggington) voicing Redbird, Robin's zippy sports car and the kid brother of the team eager to prove himself as a worthy sidekick to Bam. Redbird is enthusiastic and inquisitive, like a kid detective. Madigan Kcmar (Chuggington) voices Bibi, Batgirl's brave and bold motorcycle, and the fastest of the Batwheels. The rest of the Batwheels are voiced by Noah Bently (Elliott from Eather) as Buff, the Bat-styled monster truck with a heart as big as his wheels; Lilimar (Cleopatra in Space) as Batwing, Batman's supersonic jet plane; Kimberly D. Brooks (DC Super Hero Girls) as The Batcomputer, the supervisor, dispatcher, trainer and mother figure of team; and Mick Wingert (What If?) as Moe, Batman's robot repairman.
While the focus of Batwheels is on this group of sentient vehicles, the show will also feature members of the Bat-Family. Most notably, Ethan Hawke (The Good Lord Bird) has been cast as the voice of Batman. Everyone is probably familiar with the greatet protector of Gotahm City, and in this series he acts as a father figure to the Batwheels.
AJ Hudson (The Good Place) voices Duke Thomas/Robin. Batwheels represents the first on screen portrayal of Duke Thomas, the first Black character to don the Robin "R" in the DC comics. Lastly, we've got Leah Lewis (Nancy Drew) as Cassandra Cain/Batgirl, the first Asian-American Batgirl as first introduced in the comics.
Here's the synopsis for Batwheels:
Having just been created by the Batcomputer, our heroes are essentially kids with little to no life experience. Led by Bam (The Batmobile), the Batwheels - Bibi (The Batgirl Cycle), Redbird (Robin’s Sports Car), The Batwing and Buff (The Bat Truck) – must navigate the growing pains of being a newly formed super team as well as the growing pains that come with just being a kid. This relatable and aspirational series will follow the journey of this dynamic team as they thrill and entertain with their heroic adventures as well as demonstrate to kids the value of self-confidence, friendship and teamwork.
