Something new is coming to Apple TV+. Lucy's School is a new special kicking off in the middle of August looking to celebrate educators based on the Charles M. Shultz Peanuts comic strip.
The special sees Lucy wanting to make her own school after seeing her friends anxious about starting up in a new school in the fall. Instead of facing her fears, she decides to try and delay it the best she could by making her own school instead. During the new scholastic venture, however, Lucy learns that teaching isn't exactly as easy as she thought and finds a newfound respect for her educators. According to the press release, the special will deal with the fear of change and how with friends by her side, Lucy can conquer her fear. By its own words, it's slated to be a love letter to teachers everywhere.
The special is getting spearheaded by WildBrain and Peanuts with It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown's. Raymond S. Persi named as its director. Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz and Cornelius Uliano will act as writers while the former two will double-dip as executive producers. Paige Braddock, Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, Amir Nasrabadi, and Anne Loi will also share the exec producer role while the regular producer role is filled by James Brown and Timothy Jason Smith.
Lucy's School announcement comes with additional good news as the Apple TV+ beloved series, The Snoopy Show, will return on August 12, the same day this special is slated to drop, for a second season.
