Anna Kendrick and Zac Efron are to star in an upcoming animated series by the name of Human Discoveries. Deadline reports that the series will release later this year and comes from Chris Bruno and David Howard Lee. Human Discoveries will be produced by ShadowMachine, which is known for Bojack Horseman and Final Space, while Ninja’s Runnin’ Wild will co-produce.
This series will follow a group of friends who live during the dawn of human civilisation. This tribe will explore humanities best and worst innovations. Of course, beginning with fire and the wheel; we'll watch as they stumble across "Art. Alcohol. Fashion. Racism. Small talk. And, much to their confusion, monogamy." While specifics of Kendrick and Efron's roles haven't been revealed just yet, we can surmise that they'll be playing two key members of this group.
Human Discoveries will debut exclusively on Facebook's very own streaming service which apparently launched back in 2017. As mentioned above, the animated series will arrive later this year, though an exact date hasn't yet been revealed - we'll be sure to notify you when a precise date is announced.
Kendrick and Efron have previously worked together, starring in the 2016 comedy Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates. The former is most predominantly known for her leading role in the musical Pitch Perfect franchise and most recently starred in the film A Simple Favor. For an example of her voice-acting work, look no further than the 2016 animated film Trolls.
Similarly, Efron is most prominently known for starring in the High School Musical franchise and most recently featured in the 2017 films The Greatest Showman and Baywatch. He'll be leading the controversial, upcoming crime-thriller Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile which will also debut in late 2019.
