Last year Minecraft added a ton of Adventure Time-themed content - from a skin pack to a resource pack, and even its own dedicated map - and now it's time for the popular animated show to repay the favour.
An upcoming episode of the cartoon will see the main characters sprung into the world of blocks that fans of the renowned building game will no doubt recognise. This collaboration between Cartoon Network and Mojang does a 180 on the Minecraft DLC and sees the show's characters and world - named the Land of Ooo - with right angles and flat faces, similar to the game of which it's referencing.
You can check out a clip of the episode, which will debut next month on Cartoon Network, below:
The series follows the adventures of a boy named Finn (voiced by Jeremy Shada) and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake (John DiMaggio)—a dog with the magical power to change shape and size at will. Finn and Jake live in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo, where they interact with Princess Bubblegum (Hynden Walch), the Ice King (Tom Kenny), Marceline the Vampire Queen (Olivia Olson), BMO (Niki Yang), and others.
The intensely popular game has very clearly made a name for itself outside of the gaming medium with other popular animated and live-action shows referencing it - as well as a full-on Minecraft movie which is currently in production and set to debut next year.
What do you think about the clip? How's the crossover shaping up in your eyes?
