Later this year, the iconic Disney mascot, Mickey Mouse, will turn 90 years old, and to celebrate the momentous occasion, ABC will air a two-hour prime-time special. This news came out of the recent TCA event where it was also revealed that the special will be titled Mickey’s 90th Spectacular.
The upcoming TV event will air on Sunday, November 4 with 15-time Emmy winner Don Mischer producing and directing. Its November premiere date means fans will celebrate the mouse's 90th anniversary in the same month that he made is debut in Steamboat Willie.
No specifics were shared in regards to what audiences will see during Mickey's 90th Spectacular, but we do know there will be plenty of "musical performances, tributes and never-before-seen short films" during the two-hour event.
However, we should expect to hear more details on the 90th Spectacular as we approach its air date, including the names of performers and special guests which will apparently be announced soon.
