Netflix has found itself a home to many forms of animation serving both adults and children at the same time. During the current outbreak, it is especially important to have an animated catalogue and series for viewers who are missing out on their regularly scheduled programming.
Because of this, Cartoon and Network and Boomerang have officially acquired Cupcake and Dino, which is currently on Netflix, in order to distrubute to Australia and New Zealand. Not to worry for state-side fans, the entire series will remain on Netflix, this deal only regards the pay-TV broadcast rights.
This is just one of many moves made in the industry lately to push forward animation, with executives noticing how valuable story-telling mediums outside of live action are, especially during the current lockdown situation. COVID is a horrible thing, but at least animation is thriving in the darkness.
