Adventure Time was one of those shows that helped to usher in a new era for Cartoon Network, allowing creators with unique visions to create shows that have big heart and big lessons but are, on the surface, very weird, to say the least. One of those shows that ended up being the leader of the charge was Adventure Time. A show so simple in its execution that it wrangled in a huge demographic of viewers.
While the main series has concluded, Cartoon Network has been working with HBO Max to bring some of their most iconic shows to the streaming service and even create some new content based on that. One of those shows has been Adventure Time: Distant Lands, which focuses more on the side characters of the series rather than Finn and Jake.
A new trailer has recently dropped for the second of four one-hour specials titled, Adventure TIme: Distant Lands - Obsidian, which follows Marceline and Princess Bubblegum as they conquer a harrowing adventure together, in between living a peaceful life as a couple. The trailer features a ton of new footage and offers a glimpse into a darker side of Marceline's past.

When a powerful and dangerous dragon breaks free from its prison beneath the Glass Kingdom, Glassboy — a young bookworm — sets out to find the legendary hero who first defeated the dragon centuries ago: Marceline the Vampire Queen. Marcy, now living in domestic bliss with Princess Bubblegum, is apprehensive about revisiting the Glass Kingdom. It’s a place that holds bad memories for her and Bubblegum. With the help of Glassboy and some new friends, Marceline and Princess Bubblegum will have to confront their rocky past as they face off against an ancient foe.
