Hulu Issues A Trailer And Release Date for Marvel’s Animated Series M.O.D.O.K. — It’s Gonna Be A Weird One
M.O.D.O.K. has been a Marvel Comics supervillain for over 50 years, and now he’s starring in his own Hulu stop-motion animated series and being played strictly for laughs.
It’s difficult to believe that Stan Lee and Jack Kirby could have envisioned their super villain M.O.D.O.K., he with the mighty brain, huge head and teeny body, being brought to television in the form of a bizarre animated comedy. To be fair, of course, back then they never could have foreseen all that has happened to their creations over the decades.
Voiced by Patton Oswalt (who Marvel fans know from, among other things, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the 10-episode M.O.D.O.K. “follows the megalomaniac who has long pursued his dream of one day conquering the world. But after years of setbacks and failures fighting the Earth’s mightiest heroes, M.O.D.O.K. has run his evil organization A.I.M. into the ground. Ousted as A.I.M.’s leader, while also dealing with his crumbling marriage and family life, the Mental Organism Designed only for Killing is set to confront his greatest challenge yet.”
Other voices on the show include Melissa Fumero, Aimee Garcia, Ben Schwartz (most recently the voice of the big screen Sonic the Hedgehog), Wendi McLendon-Covey (from The Goldbergs), Beck Bennett, Sam Richardson and John Daly. Oswalt has created the series with Jordan Blum, the two of them serving as writers as well.
M.O.D.O.K. arrives on Hulu for streaming on May 21st.
