Netflix is usually the platform that revives television shows when networks drop them. Oddly enough, however, the opposite is the case when it comes to the animated series Tuca and Bertie.
2019's cartoon comedy series which features Ali Wong, Tiffany Haddish, Steven Yeun, and more was met with praise yet it was still cancelled by Netflix to viewers dismay. Luckily for fans of the two birds, Cartoon Network has found room in its late night comedy block Adult Swim to revive the series.
Adult Swim has ordered a ten-episode second season of the series, breathing life back into a show that only premiered last year. While an exact date isn't yet confirmed for the new episodes to release, it is targeted for a 2021 launch date.
Lisa Hanawalt, the creator and executive producer of Tuca and Bertie made the following comments in regards to the recent revival on Adult Swim.
“I’ve been a fan of Adult Swim shows since my teens, so I’m thrilled to bring my beloved fowl to the party and be a new voice for a fresh decade of absurd, irreverent, yet heartwarming adult animation."
