Rick and Morty fans have been spoiled with Season 5 of the Adult Swim series because eight episodes were released in a row with no hiatus - something that the show is not often to do. Because of the strange nature of the release schedule, many viewers expected all ten episodes in a row.
Those who tuned in to catch Episode 9 on Sunday night were met with disappointment as a re-run of Rick and Morty Season 5 aired in its place for the first time this season. Luckily, unlike many experiences with past seasons, we know when to expect the final two episodes of the season.
Fans have two more weeks until Rick and Morty returns. However, they will be met with something that has never taken place with the series before - an hour-long season finale. Episodes 9 and 10 will both be airing back to back on September 5th, with the finale's synopsis being particularly of interest as it reads, "Trying something new broh. Doin it big."
Are you more disappointed with the wait or excited for the two-parter? Regardless, let us know your thoughts in the usual spot, and make sure to check out our exclusive video interview with Summer Smith voice actress Spencer Grammer below!
Spencer Grammer is in the house! The actress and voice performer behind Rick & Morty's Summer Smith stops by the show to talk about the character now that she's voiced her for a decade! We dig deep into Summer's character arc and how a mixture of her own personality and the writing helped lend to that growth.
Discussing which characters she'd like to see re-visit the show, we shared plenty of laughs about Bucket Head, Snowball, Summer's ex, and more. We joke about a potential crossover where she finds her ex-boyfriend in the Solar Opposites wall and what dimension Summer would choose to visit with Rick's portal gun - The Neverending Story.
Talk turns to her father, Frasier and X-Men star Kelsey Grammer, and we discuss why he doesn't watch Rick and Morty, and we even cook up a jestful scheme that would see the actor play Summer's father from a different dimension, as Frasier. Spencer shares tidbits about her decade of experience with the show and makes it clear that she has no plans to leave the character of Summer behind, as well as talking to us about a few of her other projects.
Episodes 9 and 10 of Rick and Morty will air on Sunday, September 5th, on Adult Swim.
