After the fourth season of Adult Swim's Rick and Morty completed, many would have assumed that there are no more surprises left from the series. Now, it would appear that that assumption was dead wrong, thansk to the special features of the home video version of the show.
From making props to Snake Jazz, the bonus features of Rick and Morty season 4 feature some of the best featurettes to date. One of the standouts of the disc was easily the Samurai and Shogun short, animated by the Japanese Studio DEEN.
The short follows a samurai Rick as he wheels a seemingly helpless Morty through tall grass in feudal Japan, suddenly he is ambused by ninja Ricks and everything after gets very violent. Since the video was such a hit director and screenwriter Kaichi Saito decided to share some of his rough sketches on his Twitter!
It looks like no matter what, Rick and Morty always has something up their sleeves to surprise fans with. We would love to hear your thoughts on the art in the comments below and if you want to hear more about the new season, check out our review on Literary Joe's Inner Child Podcast!
Inspired by the classic manga Lone Wolf and Cub, 'Samurai and Shogun' follows Samurai Rick as he walks through a field at night with Shogun Morty. The pair are suddenly ambushed by a small army of Ninja Ricks who teleport in and attack.
Rick and Morty Season 4 is available now on Blu-ray and Digital!
