It seems the new animated My Adventures with Superman cartoon from Adult Swim will be covering Clark's Kryptonian origin as a new clip reveals the show's designs for Jor-el.
Interestingly enough, Kryptonians will actually speak an alien language as most shows and films of late have simply opted to have Kryptonians speak English.
My Adventures with Superman is scheduled to premiere on July 6, 2023, on Adult Swim and stream on Max the following day. The series will follow Clark Kent as he builds his secret Superman identity and embraces his role as the hero of Metropolis, while sharing adventures and falling in love with Lois Lane, a star investigative journalist, who also takes Jimmy Olsen under her wing.
The show will be produced by Warner Bros. Animation and will feature a voice cast that includes Jack Quaid (The Boys, Oppenheimer) as Clark Kent / Superman, Alice Lee (Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist) as Lois Lane, and Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Andor) as Jimmy Olsen. The series will be written by Brent Friedman, who previously worked on the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.
As evident by the clip and previously released trailers, the show definitely has an anime-inspired visual style as the production studio likely outsourced a fair share of the production load to Korean and Japanese animation studios.
It will be interesting to see how Western audiences respond to such a unique take on the Man of Steel.
