During the New York Comic Con 2023 event earlier this month, Adult Swim shared numerous details about the upcoming twelfth season of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, including a sneak peek at the new animation, which has been updated since last year’s direct-to-video release, Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm. Fans also learned about new guest stars that will be joining the series.

On October 19, 2023, Adult Swim teased the new season through various social media channels, unveiling a poster featuring the Aqua Teens (Master Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad) decked out in workout attire - except for Master Shake, struggling to fit into his jeans.

The poster also announced the premiere date of the new season: Sunday, November 26, 2023, fittingly set for the Thanksgiving weekend.

Following their TV broadcast, new episodes will subsequently be available on Max starting the next day.

Season 12 follows the release of last years Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm, a feature film from the series, and will bring back voice talents Carey Means as Frylock, Dana Snyder as Master Shake, with co-creator Willis voicing both Meatwad and Carl. Willis and Maiellaro have once again taken on the roles of writers, producers, and directors for this twelfth installment.

According to the press release issued by Adult Swim the new season will pick up where the show left off in 2015. Master Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad have returned to solve all of life's modern issues, and Carl returns because he can't sell his crappy house because he lives next door to food.

Look for your favorite trio of "detectives" to go head-to-head with A.I. appliances, join an apocalyptic fitness cult, and search for friendship through ancient Egyptian pyramid schemes. In the end, all problems shall be solved, and all brains shall be melted.

About Aqua Teen Hunger Force

Aqua Teen Hunger Force emerged as one of the pioneering animated series on Adult Swim, originating from the iconic 1990s show, Space Ghost Coast to Coast. The show initially appeared on Cartoon Network in a preview on December 30, 2000, followed by its official premiere on September 2, 2001.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force follows the quirky escapades of three anthropomorphic fast food characters: the arrogant milkshake Master Shake, the intellectual box of fries Frylock, and the endearing meatball Meatwad.

In 2007, despite the fallout from the Boston Mooninite Panic - a controversial marketing stunt - the series made its cinematic debut with Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, leading to significant changes at Cartoon Network. The show wrapped up its television run on August 30, 2015, after 14 years, though the characters remained active in network promotions.

In November 2022, Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm, a sequel to the 2007 movie, was released direct-to-video, adding to Adult Swim's collection of original films.

January 2023 marked the announcement of the show’s twelfth season, coinciding with the network's separation from Justin Roiland, co-creator of Rick and Morty.
