BoJack Horseman creator and writer Raphael Bob-Waksberg took to Twitter to say his piece in regards to the recent Netflix and Dave Chappelle controversy. If you're unaware, the comedian's newest special included jokes that many have taken issue with as they are insensitive and offensive towards transgender people.

It has been argued that Netflix is simply a platform and don't have a say in the content that they broadcast. Bob-Waksberg argues otherwise, recalling a time that Netflix made him remove an entire scene from BoJack Horseman because the streaming service feared that it would create bad blood with renowned director David Fincher.

"Still mystified that apparently Dave Chapelle's deal is that he says whatever he wants and Netflix just has to air it, unedited. Is that normal, for comedians? Because Netflix once asked me to change a joke because they were worried it might upset David Fincher," Bob-Waksberg explained on Twitter.

"Just looked up the cut Fincher joke because I actually couldn't remember it. Turns out it was a whole scene! Netflix was right to note, it's a dumb scene. My point was it's silly for a network to pretend their hands are tied when it comes to the content they put on their network."

In a commendable move, Bob-Waksberg promised that he would shared the unproduced scene if those interested donated to the Trans Lifeline charity. After raising $2000 for the cause, Bob-Waksberg released the script for the scene which features the titular horse-man, Princess Carolyn, and aforementioned director David Fincher.

Judge it for yourself below but it seems pretty tame compared to Chappelle's controversial jokes that Netflix had no issue platforming. Here's a link to the Trans Lifeline charity should you feel inclined to contribute.
