The upcoming ten-episode seventh season of Adult Swim's hit animated comedy Rick and Morty has been shrouded in mystery ever since the network announced earlier this year that series co-creator Justin Roiland had been fired from the show after being charged with felony domestic battery and false imprisonment, as well as additional inappropriate conduct, and that his title roles of Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith would be recast with soundalikes ahead of the new season.
The identities of the new voice actors remain a mystery, but the official season seven trailer gives us our first listen to the new voices and they sound nearly identical to Roiland's iteration of the characters, so it seems as though the producers have succeeded in finding suitable replacements.
It remains unclear why the network is keeping the identity of these new actors a secret, even after today's trailer launch, but, there's a decent chance it might have something to do with the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, which would prevent the new stars from promoting the new season even if they were revealed today. So, we'd imagine they'll want to make a more formal announcement once the strike is over and they can introduce the new actors with their full involvement.
ICYMI, here are the season seven air dates and episode titles with their respective synopses:
- Oct. 15 – "How Poopy Got His Poop Back" – "Broh, come out with us, you're being so boring dude"
- Oct. 22 – "The Jerrick Trap" – "Gotta be mindful Broh, big brain stuff here."
- Oct. 29 – "Air Force Wong" – "Virginia is for lovers Broh"
- Nov. 5 – "That's Amorte" – "Broh, That's-A Some Good Spaghetti"
- Nov. 12 – "Unmortricken" – "Rick And Morty Wilding Out, Broh. They getting up to stuff."
- Nov. 19 – "Rickfending Your Mort" – "Gotta keep those receipts, Dawg."

- Dec. 10 – "Mort: Ragnarick" – "Heaven is for real, Broh. I saw it, Broh, I swear."
- Dec. 17 – "Fear no Mort" – "Only thing to fear is fear itself, Broh."
As expected, the synopses are decidedly vauge, so it's hard to tell what we'll be getting this season, but the trailer does offer plenty of quick teases for Rick and Morty's latest batch of wild adventures.
