After a very long time, fans have finally been given what they wanted — as Nintendo and Game Freak finally revealed Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield; the new entries in the acclaimed Pokémon series of video games.

These two new entries in the acclaimed Pocket Monster series will be introducing players to the Galar region; where they are promised to find never-before-seen Pokémon to catch in their journey to becoming a Pokémon Master.

Among the new Pokémon found in the Galar region, players will be introduced to Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble; the Grass, Fire, and Water types of Pokémon that players will be able to choose at the beginning of their journey.

As revealed by The Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be coming out exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, and are expected to release in summer of 2019.

Take a look:

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be set in Galar, an expansive region with many environments—idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. The people and Pokémon live together in this region, and they’ve worked together to develop the industries here.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be available for the Nintendo Switch in 2019.
