We've known for a while now that Hulu is planning to bring Futurama back to our screens, and one of the show's stars has offered an idea of when we can expect to see this revival on the streaming platform!

Last year, it was confirmed that Hulu has picked up Futurama for a new 20-episode revival. The series, created by The Simpsons mastermind Matt Groening, ended in 2013 and that really seemed to be it for the popular sci-fi show.

After all, it was hit with multiple cancellations and renewals during its original run, starting out on FOX before eventually moving to Comedy Central. However, Futurama was one of many properties acquired by Disney during its acquisition of 20th Century Fox, so we're not remotely surprised the studio is now looking to revive the property.

The original cast will reprise their respective roles, including Lauren Tom as Planet Express intern Amy Wong. Recently, she appeared at San Francisco's Sketchfest comedy festival for a "Futurama vs Covid 3019" panel alongside her fellow cast members and the show's writers.

After sharing a photo of their reunion, Tom responded to a fan who expressed excitement for the revival by saying, "The new episodes should be released sometime this summer! Can’t wait for you to see them!"

That means we really don't have too much longer to wait before getting more Futurama, and several titles were revealed last year, including "Rage Against The Vaccine" and "Zapp Gets Cancelled," that suggested the show will continue being topical despite its future setting!

There had initially been some controversy surrounding the revival when John DiMaggio declined to return as Bender because he felt the entire cast deserved better pay. While that didn't happen, he was eventually convinced to join the series, and will now voice the foul-mouthed robot as only he can.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Futurama revival as we have them!
