At the start, Prime Video touted its decision to split season 2 of Invincible in half as a win for fans, citing the long wait fans had to endure between season 1 and season 2.

The show's first season dropped on March 25, 2021, while season 2 premiered last year on November 3, 2023. Executives and show creators positioned the decision to fans as a way to shorten the time between when season 2 ends and when the show's third season premieres.

However, it's safe to say that fans are less than thrilled with the wait for new episodes. The show made somewhat light of anxious fans in its X-post which announced that season 2 part 2's release date will be revealed next week.

From a plot progression standpoint, the first four episodes of season 2 moves the main storyline between Mark Grayson and Nolan Grayson along at a quick pace but not much happened with most of the show's supporting characters- they're essentially in the same emotional space as when season 1 ended. A few new questions were raised but nothing was definitively answered or revealed.

Invincible voice actor Fred Tatasciore recently stated that Part 2 of season 2 would continue its meandering waltz but also teased that all the disparate plotlines would come together in a surprising way.

Elswhere, on social media, the show also celebrated a few of its wins from the ongoing awards season. Invincible picked up a few trophies at the Annie Awards and the Rotten Tomatoes Golden Tomato Awards.
