Netflix has renewed their irreverent animated Big Mouth series for another three seasons. Currently, the show consists of two seasons and a third has been confirmed for a while. Thanks to a new report by
Deadline, we now know for sure that seasons four, five, and six will happen.
The streaming-service giant has signed a multi-year deal with, the new animation production company, Brutus Pink — which was put together by, the creative team of
Big Mouth, Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett.
Mike Moon, head of adult animation for Netflix, had this to say about the renewal of
Big Mouth:
“Big Mouth brilliantly captures the most awkward phase in a person’s life, puberty, in a hilarious yet heartwarming way. We couldn’t be more excited to continue our relationship with Brutus Pink and bring more stories, more humor, and more hormones to Netflix members around the world.”
Brutus Pink similarly provided a statement:
"Netflix has given us the best creative experience imaginable, and we’ve been able to build an amazing community of talented writers, actors, producers and artists. We’re thrilled to be continuing with everyone for years to come.”
Big Mouth focuses on a group of middle schoolers who are in the midst of puberty. They must deal with friendships, relationships, and other social challenges all while putting up with their changing bodies — which are represented by literal hormone monsters. The cast includes: Nick Kroll, John Mulaney, Jessi Klein, Jason Mantzoukas, Jenny Slate, Fred Armisen, Maya Rudolph, and Jordan Peele.
